Gearbox Software, LLC, ABD tabanlı, merkezi Plano, Teksas'ta yer alan bir oyun geliştirici şirket. En çok geliştirdikleri Borderlands oyunu ile tanınmaktadırlar. Ayrıca şirket Duke Nukem serisinin haklarına sahiptir.

Tarihçe

Şirket, kapanan Rebel Boat Rocker'ın beş çalışanı; Randy Pitchford, Brian Martel, Stephen Bahl, Landon Montgomery, ve Rob Heironimus tarafından kurulmuştur.

Oyun serileri

Half-Life Serisi

Gearbox, Half-Life serisi için altı tane oyun geliştirmiştir. Bunların arasında Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Blue Shift isimli eklentiler, Half-Life'ın Dreamcast (Half-Life: Blue Shift'i içermekte) ve PlayStation 2 (Half-Life: Decay'ı içermekte) için uyarlanmış sürümü yer almaktadır. Ayrıca Counter-Strike: Condition Zero'nun büyük bir bölümü üzerinde çalışmışlardır.

Brothers in Arms Serisi

2005'te Gearbox, ilk bağımsız yapımı olan Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 isimli, II. Dünya Savaşı konulu oyunu tamamlamıştır. Daha sonra çıkarılan Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway gibi devam oyunları ve çeşitli platformlara uyarlanan sürümler ile oyun, bir seri konumuna gelmiştir.
